GRIEVANCE TRAINING PROGRAM – As was reported at the January Membership Meeting, Local 63 will be hosting a short training class for any of our members who are interested in learning how to file a grievance and what members’ rights are on the job.  This session will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.  We will be going over the two types of grievances (contract, disciplinary), past practice grievances, and discussing how a member can investigate and write up a grievance.  We will also talk about Weingarten rights (aka, when does the member have a right to union representation in a meeting with management).  The training will take place at Local 63 and is expected to be 1-2 hours long.  Any member interested in participating, please send an email to staff@ilwu63.net to confirm your attendance.
