Caltrans to Perform Overnight Resurfacing Work on Four Local Roads in Wilmington Both directions of travel will remain open on all affected roads throughout the work  

WILMINGTON — Caltrans (District 7) will resurface and paint new lane striping on sections of Alameda Street, Anaheim Street, Harry Bridges Boulevard, and Henry Ford Avenue during the week of July 20.   Construction at all locations will require lane closures and occur overnight, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on all the affected routes.   The schedules and locations of work are as follows:  

Alameda Street between Anaheim Street and Denni Street July 21-24 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.  

Anaheim Street between Alameda Street and Henry Ford Avenue July 23-24 at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Harry Bridges Boulevard between Figueroa Street and Alameda Street July 23-24 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.  

Henry Ford Avenue from Pier A Street to Anaheim Street July 20-21 and July 23-24 at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

These resurfacing operations are part of a broader effort to improve local infrastructure that will be used or impacted by detour traffic during the full closure of the Vincent Thomas Bridge, scheduled to begin on November 1, 2026.   A critical infrastructure project totaling $752.8 million, the Vincent Thomas Bridge Deck Replacement will require partial and full closures of the bridge over the next two years. Skanska-CEC Joint Venture is the general contractor for the project.    Due to weather or operational factors, the construction schedule is subject to change, including dates and times, the number of closures, and other details.
