| Date: May 5, 2026 District: 7, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties Contact: Diana Jimenez Ā Ā TRAFFIC ALERT: Overnight Traffic BreaksĀ onĀ Eastbound Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro Ā Ā SAN PEDRO āCaltrans (District 7), in collaboration with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), will conduct traffic breaks at the beginning of the eastbound Vincent Thomas Bridge (State Route 47) in San Pedro for survey work. Ā Traffic breaks will occur for approximately five minutes, twice each hour, from 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6. Ā CHP officers will slow traffic at the following locations: Ā Channel Street on-ramp to eastbound State Route 47 (SR-47) Northbound Interstate 110 (I-110) near N. Gaffey Street to eastbound SR-47Connector from southbound I-110 to eastbound SR-47 Ā This work is part ofĀ the Vincent Thomas Bridge Deck Replacement Project. A critical infrastructure project totalingĀ $752.8 million, the deck replacement will require partial and full closures of the bridge over the next two years.
