OPT-IN DEADLINE TO RECEIVE LOCAL 63 TEXT MESSAGES – Local 63 has been notified that due to provisions of the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), effective March 1, 2024, only Local 63 members who have opted-in will be able to receive group text messages from Local 63. Members can “opt-in” to continue receiving important text messages from Local 63 by going to notify.workingsystems.com. 

At this site, you will follow these simple steps:

(1) Enter your cell phone number and click “submit,” you will then receive a security code (“OTP” code) by text message;

(2) Enter the code that you received via text message and click “submit.”

(3) Click the “Opt-in” button and you will see “Current Status – SMS: Opted-In.”  At this point, you are opted-in to receive Local 63 text messages.

On Wednesday night, ILWU Walk the Coast Committee held its 9th Annual Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament in the fight against childhood cancer.

This event raised $11,955 total for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation which goes toward seeking cures to childhood cancer and family travel support.

At the tournament, ILWU Local 13 members took 1st and 2nd place.

Our own Local members Joe Mascola and Benny D’Aquanno played quite well, making the “final table” and taking 4th and 11th places, respectively, out of 97 players.

On the day before Thanksgiving, the Local 63 Officers proudly showed up to support the ILWU’s Annual Feed the Community Day whereby Union and community volunteers distribute Thanksgiving meal packages to the community.

As always, the community showed their great appreciation for this well-organized annual effort. We can all be proud.

Pandemic Appreciation Pay – See attached letter from the Coast Labor Relations Committee regarding Appreciation Pay.  Payments for eligible workers will be on this Friday’s check, November 10^th.  If you do not receive the payment but believe you are entitled to it, you must file a claim prior to December 22, 2023.  Click link for more info. 

The ILWU Credit Union is offering Local 63 Members another opportunity to attend a Retirement Planning Seminar on Thursday, November 9^th at noon and 5 p.m. This presentation has been created specifically for ILWU members to review the key issues one should consider before deciding to retire.
