On January 22, 2015, the Office of Joe Buscaino, LA City Councilman, held a community march in support of the ILWU's Contract negotiations. 5,000-6,000 members of ILWU Locals 13, 63, 94, numerous other unions, and community members marched in support of the ILWU's fight for a fair Contract.
For the 14th consecutive year, ILWU Local 63, along with Locals 13, 94, Southern California Pensioners, and Women's Auxiliary #8, funded and participated in the ILWU's annual "Feed the Community Day" for needy families in the Harbor area. The 70-pound baskets, which can feed as many as 10 people, typically include a whole 12-pound turkey, cornbread, fresh fruit, vegetables, etc.
October 2012 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Marine Clerks Association in the Ports of LA/LB. Local 63 is assembling pictures and will be conducting interviews as we celebrate our 75th anniversary. Here are just a few of the pictures collected so far. Captions will be added soon. Photo credits: ILWU International library and archives
